These terms explain how you may use MyEnglishPilot — IELTS, PTE and Learn English — during its internal test stage. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy. This page will be updated, with a new date, whenever the terms change.
What the service is
MyEnglishPilot is an independent English-learning platform with three products on one account. IELTS is an independent IELTS practice product. It offers lessons and practice for Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, supporting Grammar and Vocabulary lessons, full-length practice tests and a Mock Test. PTE (Academic, Core and Academic UKVI) offers each test’s question types and a representative timed mock, and shows answer-key points and accuracy only, never a 10–90 score; it is not affiliated with Pearson. English Foundation teaches general English from Pre-A1 to C2 and gives practice guidance, never an official level. Across all three, feedback comes from automatic, rule-based checks and speech processing that run on the service’s own server. The Teacher can also offer optional AI help: a small model on that server answers first, and demanding questions, for accounts enabled for them, go to Anthropic’s Claude, which receives the page context and your own answer for that question. AI replies are labelled, can be wrong, and never give a band or score. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the official IELTS partners.
Practice estimates only
- Every band or range the service shows is a practice estimate. It is not an official IELTS score, result or certificate, and it cannot be used as one, for example in an application.
- Only an official IELTS test can give you an official result.
- Automatic feedback can be incomplete or wrong. Use it as guidance for your practice.
Your account
- Use your own account, and keep your password private. You can sign out of other devices in Settings.
- New accounts start with a trial period. When your trial or access period ends, you can still open, download and delete your saved work, but new assessed practice is paused.
- There is no payment during the private beta. “Upgrade now” only simulates activating a plan: no card is charged and no payment details are collected.
Your work and your data
- Your answers, Writing and recordings are used to give you feedback and to show your progress.
- When you use the Teacher’s AI help, or a Writing report includes AI-assisted suggestions, the page context and your own answer text for that request are sent to the model that answers it: our own server, or Anthropic’s Claude. The Privacy Policy explains what is sent, what is logged and for how long.
- Each assessed Writing report keeps the exact text you submitted until you delete that report or your account.
- Speaking recordings are deleted from the server once they have been processed. If a recording cannot be used, or the server is too busy to process it in time, you are asked to record a new answer. A recording that is never processed is deleted within 24 hours.
- You can download your data, delete a Writing report, or delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting your account is immediate and permanent; deleted data may remain in private backups until they expire.
- The Privacy Policy explains what is stored, how long it is kept and how it is deleted.
Acceptable use
- Use the service for your own English learning and exam preparation.
- Do not try to access another learner’s account or data.
- Do not copy, bulk-extract or redistribute the practice content.
- Do not use automated tools to create accounts or submit work in bulk, or try to disrupt the service.
- Rate and fair-use limits keep the service available for everyone. If you reach one, a message tells you when you can try again.
Practice content
The practice passages, questions, recordings and model answers were written for MyEnglishPilot and are provided for your own practice. The Listening recordings use synthetic voices.
Audio voices
Listening and examiner audio is synthesised on our own server with Piper voice models. No audio is sent to an outside speech service.
- The US male Listening voice is a Piper model trained on the LibriTTS corpus (Zen et al.), used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. The authors do not endorse this service.
- The British female and US female Listening voices are Piper models trained on public-domain recordings (LibriVox and the LJ Speech dataset).
The test stage
IELTS is in a private beta; PTE and Learn English are internal alphas, open to invited accounts only. Features and content may change, and the service may sometimes be unavailable while it is being improved. Your saved work stays in your account unless you delete it.
